Comprehensive Exam Your first visit will include dental examination. Your dentist will do visual examination of teeth, gums, and soft tissues. If necessary, we may take X-rays and photographs of your teeth. After the exam, Your Dentist will discuss recommended treatments to address your needs. Cleaning, Scale And Polish Dental cleanings involve removing plaque (soft, sticky, bacteria infested film) and tartar (calculus) deposits that have built up on the teeth over time. Routine dental scaling and polishing is a procedure that removes all the plaque, tartar, and calculus deposit, including stains on the surface of your teeth. These deposits usually show up from time to time and require removal at regular intervals. The recommended time between each dental cleaning is usually every six months, unless stated by our dentists for exclusive care due to advanced gum problems.
